About Us
Botany Downs Primary School was founded in 1975. Originally an open plan school, class rooms have been extensively modified over the years and have been returned to more traditional single classrooms.
We are fortunate in having very attractive and extensive well maintained grounds which give our children plenty of room to play. This includes two adventure playgrounds and a senior play area with a table tennis table and checkers board. Our facilities include both a modern hall and a swimming pool. This is open during the holidays and weekends for the school community to enjoy.
Over the last two years there has been considerable development of our facilities.
During 2006, the entire school was re-cabled as part of the upgrade of our computer facilities. The library was modernised and extended, and is now a large, wonderful asset for our school.
In 2007, a second senior playground was created and the already attractive gardens were extended. A native tree area was developed.
In September 2008 Prime Minster Helen Clark opened the new modern enlarged administration facility block/staff room.
