Newsletter – Week 10, Term 3, 2022

Kia ora koutou BDS whānau,                                                   Week 10, Term 3, 2022

Our Arts Celebration Evening was an amazing success last Thursday. We were so incredibly happy to see our BDS whānau attending this event despite the weather. Thank you from all of us at BDS, including your tamariki, for your enthusiasm and support.

Our lead teacher who organised this event was Mr Sojung Yoon along with his capable team of Mrs Joanne Hughson who organised the food, Mrs Kylee Holmes and Mrs Kirsten Hartnoll as our liasions with our PTA, our PTA, and Mr Mark Insley and Mr Paul Laloli for organising the presentation of our art. Thank you so much for your mahi to ensure our Arts Celebration Evening was organised and ran smoothly. To our outstanding staff and tamariki at BDS who created their art and practised their items we say THANK YOU!!

Term 3 has been a very busy term with high attendance, engaged students and sporting, cultural and the arts school activities underway again. Thank you to all the staff for their mahi and dedication to every aspect of learning and pastoral care at our kura.

We wish you all a happy and safe holiday.

Ngā mihi nui,
Vicki Parkins, Principal (vickip@botanydowns.school.nz)

School Magazine 2022 – $20

At BDS we celebrate the year at our kura with photos and stories in our school magazine. This is a wonderful summary of the school year and we know many of our whānau treasure this magazine.

Over the years, and particularly this year, the costs have greatly increased and we now need to ask for a contribution towards the printing of the magazine. This will ensure the cost of the school magazine will not be impacting on our students’ learning activities and resources. To make this a viable option we need to charge $20 for each school magazine. The school will still be subsidising most of the cost of the magazine.

We also need to have an idea of how many magazines we need to have printed before we go ahead. Please complete this quick survey with a yes or no: School Magazine Survey

Thank you.
